みなさんには「死ぬまでにやってみたいこと」ってありますか？
僕の場合は「世界旅行」なんですが、本当にいつか実現させてみたいものです（遠い目）
そんなわけで、今日は「死ぬまでに〇〇したい」を英語で何というかエリンに教えてもらったのでまとめますよ！
「死ぬまでにしたい/やりたい」の英語表現：be on my bucket list
「死ぬまでに○○したい/やりたい」は “bucket list” という英語で表現できます。
“bucket list” は「死ぬまでにやりたいことのリスト」のことです。
“〇〇 is on my bucket list.” で 「〇〇は死ぬまでにやってみたい」という意味になります。

“bucket list” という表現は、ジャック・ニコルソン、モーガン・フリーマン主演の映画、”The Bucket List” (邦題：最高の人生の見つけ方）から来ています。
余命宣告された２人の男が死ぬ前にやり残したことを実現するために “bucket list” という「死ぬまでにしたいことのリスト」を作って冒険に出るというストーリーです。
この “bucket list” は映画の中の造語なのですが、なぜこれが「死ぬまでにしたいことのリスト」という意味になるかというと、「死ぬ」を意味するスラングに “kick the bucket” というものがあるからなんですね。
つまり “bucket list” ＝”a wish list of things to do before kicking the bucket” （死ぬまでにしたいことのリスト）ということです。

From kick the bucket (“to die”) + list, hence a “list of things to do before you die”. The term was coined by American and British screenwriter Justin Zackham in his screenplay for the 2007 film The Bucket List.
で、ですよ！（疲れてきたよ！）
なんで “kick the bucket” （直訳：バケツを蹴る）が「死ぬ」という意味のスラングになるかというと、諸説ありますが、首つり自殺する人が、最後の最後にバケツ（踏み台）を蹴って首を吊るかららしいです。

To kick the bucket is an English idiom, considered a euphemistic, informal, or slang term meaning ‘to die’.
Its origin remains unclear, though there have been several theories. （中略）A common theory is that the idiom refers to hanging, either as a method of execution or suicide. However, there is no evidence to support this. Its earliest appearance is in the Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue (1785), where it is defined as ‘to die’.In John Badcock’s slang dictionary of 1823, the explanation is given that “One Bolsover having hung himself from a beam while standing on a pail, or bucket, kicked this vessel away in order to pry into futurity and it was all UP with him from that moment: Finis”.
