今日は 「確定申告」を英語で何というかをまとめますよ！
「確定申告」の英語表現①： do my taxes
do one’s taxes で 「確定申告する」という意味になります。
収入を計算して、書類を用意して、提出する。
全部ひっくるめて do one’s taxes です。
do (one’s) taxes
In the U.S., money is usually taken out of your paycheck to pay for taxes. But once a year, you have to calculate the exact amount of tax you owe, and fill out paperwork to send to the IRS, which is a government agency that’s in charge of taxes. Calculating your tax and filling out the paperwork is called “doing your taxes”.
Tax season is coming. I have to do my taxes soon.

Doing taxes is such a pain! Adulting is so hard!
（確定申告ってほんとめんどくさい！大人になるってほんと大変）
ちなみに tax season とは「確定申告する時期」のことです。
アメリカでも日本同様、春に確定申告をするようです（通常4月15日締め切り）。
「確定申告」の英語表現②: file my taxes / file my tax return
“file one’s taxes” や “file one’s tax return” でも「確定申告する」を表現できます。
ここでいう “file” は、「（書類などを）提出する」という意味になります。
また “tax return” とは、確定申告の際に記入する書類、申告書のことをいいます。
払いすぎた税金が返ってくること(tax refund)ではありませんので注意です！

A tax return is an official form that you fill in with details about your income and personal situation, so that the tax you owe can be calculated.
Filing taxes can be a little overwhelming, but it’s not too hard once you get the hang of it.
（確定申告は少ししり込みするかもしれないけど、コツを掴んじゃえばそんなに難しくないよ）
I know I have to file my tax return, but I’m just procrastinating.
（確定申告しなきゃならないのはわかってるけど、ただただ先延ばしにしてる自分がいる）
When I went to the tax collector to submit my tax return, there was a long line and I had to wait forever.
（税務署に確定申告の書類を提出しに行ったんだけど、すごい列ができてて、めちゃくちゃ待たされたよ）
Maybe you should have e-filed it.
（パソコン上でやっちゃえば良かったのに）
税務署は “tax collector” といいます。
また “file” my tax return だけでなく、たとえば
“prepare” my tax return（確定申告の書類を準備する） や
“submit” my tax return（確定申告の書類を提出する）ということもできます。
また、パソコン上でデータのみを送信して確定申告することを “e-file” といいます。
日本では e-Tax って言いますが、アメリカでは “e-file” です。
