スラング英語 “friend zone” の意味とは

Joey: Because you waited too long to make your move, and now you’re in the friend zone.

“friend zone” は、恋愛において「友達以上の関係になれない領域」のこと。
“be in the friends zone” で、「好きな人から友達としてしか見られていない（友達以上の関係になれない）片思い状態」って意味になるよ。
好きな人から恋愛対象として見られていないってことだよね

そうだね。
ちなみに “friend-zone” は動詞としても使えるよ。
その場合は、「友達以上の関係になれないことや恋愛対象として相手にしていないことを（暗に）示す」という意味。
例えば、↓ こんな状況の場合、 “Emily friend-zoned Jeff.” （エミリーがジェフを「 フレンドゾーン」した）っていうよ。
